I have grouped a few free virus prevention software programs on this page for your convenience. I can not make any guarantee that these tools will prevent all problems and We can not be held responsible for any problems that may occur. I have used all the software included on this page and found them to be effective for preventing and resolving most but not all virus infestations. I hope this may help you too.
- Grisoft AVG Anti-Virus Software - Checks Email and hard disk for viruses.
- Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware - Anti Virus Software.
- Ad-Aware SE Personal: - Removes Parasites, uninvited programs that run on your computer.
- Win Patrol - will allow you to lock your HOSTS file and will monitor changes to your PC.
- Microsoft Windows Defender - is a free program that helps protect your computer against pop-ups, slow performance, and security threats caused by spyware and other unwanted software. It runs on Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 only. It does NOT run under Windows 98 or Windows 2000.
- Spybot - Search and Destroy - Application to scan for spyware, adware, hijackers and other malicious software.
- ZoneAlarm - Fire wall Software.
- ShieldsUP - Gibson Research’s ShieldsUp does free online test of your fire wall.
- Hosts File - Blocking Unwanted Parasites with a Hosts File.
